Our Process
Step 1: Comprehensive Site Assessment
Our process kicks off with a detailed site assessment. Derek Hanson, our EVITP-certified master electrician, will evaluate your home's electrical system to ensure it's ready for an EV charger. We'll discuss your specific needs, whether it's a Tesla Wall Connector or a dual charger for a two-EV household. Typically, this takes about 1–2 days, factoring in any necessary panel upgrades often required in Minneapolis' older homes.
Step 2: Permit Application
Next, Alicia Vang, our project manager and rebate specialist, handles all permitting through the City of Minneapolis Inspections Services Division. With her background as an Xcel Energy program coordinator, Alicia ensures your application is smooth and accurate. Permits are usually processed within 1–3 days, depending on the city's current schedule.
Step 3: Installation Day
Once permits are approved, installation day is scheduled. Our team, led by Derek, will install your chosen EV charging solution — whether it's a Hyundai & Kia charger or a high-power outlet for an RV. Our installations are fully permitted and adhere to Minnesota's safety standards. Most installations are completed within a single day.
Step 4: Inspection & Sign-Off
After installation, we coordinate with the City of Minneapolis for a final inspection. This ensures everything is up to code and safely installed. Inspections are typically completed within 1–3 days. Once approved, you're ready to charge up with confidence.
